§ The feed

Everything published here appears in full — essay, fast variables, long memory, ledger — in one feed:

Paste that address into any feed reader. Good ones: NetNewsWire (Mac and iPhone, free, open source), Feeder (Android, free), Feedbin or Inoreader (web), Miniflux (if you run your own). Reeder and Unread are fine too. If your browser has a “subscribe” button, the site announces the feed and it will find it.

§ Email, if you insist

We will not run a newsletter, because a newsletter means a database of readers’ addresses, and the day that database exists is the day it can leak, be subpoenaed, or be sold by whoever inherits it. But you can have new editions land in your inbox anyway: several services turn any RSS feed into email, and you hold the relationship with them, not us.

• Feedrabbit — paste the feed address, receive each edition as an email. Free for a few feeds.
• Blogtrottr — the same idea, older, plain.
• Kill the Newsletter! — the reverse trick, if you already use a feed reader and want to pull other people’s newsletters into it.

Any of these will do. We never see who signed up.

§ Other channels

• Plain text. Every edition also exists as a .txt file — append index.txt to any edition address. Nothing to render, nothing to track, reads fine in a terminal or on a device from 1995.
• Gemtext. Each edition is also published as .gmi for the Gemini protocol; the capsule mirror is listed on the colophon when it is live.
• Replies. Each edition has a replies section, read by a person before anything appears. Or write to the address in the footer.

§ Cadence

Roughly one edition a month. The feed is quiet in between; that is the point.
